Leo Sidran
Leo Sidran is a Latin Grammy–winning composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer whose work spans genres and continents. Born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin and now based in Brooklyn, New York, he co-produced the Academy Award–winning song “Al otro lado del río” with Jorge Drexler and earned a Latin Grammy for his production with Alex Cuba. For over two decades, Leo has scored hundreds of commercials for global brands including Coca-Cola, Visa, Lincoln, McDonald’s, Stella Artois, Ford, IBM, Google, and Garnier, and composed music for more than a dozen acclaimed documentaries for ESPN’s 30 for 30, Discovery, IFC, Sundance, and PBS.
A lifelong musician, Leo began writing songs professionally as a teenager when the Steve Miller Band recorded four of his compositions for their 1993 Wide River album, also inviting him to play keyboards, guitars, and drums. As a drummer he has performed and recorded with jazz greats such as Phil Woods, Howard Levy, David “Fathead” Newman, Clark Terry, and Dave Grusin. As an engineer and producer he has collaborated with artists from Snarky Puppy to Massive Attack.
Today, Leo continues to release solo albums and collaborative projects and tours internationally as both a frontman and a sought-after musical partner—bringing curiosity, craftsmanship, and global perspective to every project he undertakes.
